New and Improved Jeep Cherokee 4x4

The 2009 Jeep Cherokee is all Jeep. It retains the traditional Jeep seven-slot grille and dual rounded headlights that remind potential buyers that this SUV is equipped for the trail. There is no mistaking the Jeep's athletic appearance despite recent improvements which have made it more contemporary. The Jeep Cherokee retains the rugged, off-road appearance that has become synonymous with the brand, and which Jeep's loyalists have come to expect.

The Cherokee proves itself to be one of the most capable off-road (and on-road,) midsize SUVs available today. It maintains a high degree of comfort whilst combining classic and contemporary detailing in its exterior design. For everyday use, most drivers will find its cargo space satisfactory, and the vehicle itself a well-equipped, capable performer.

Jeep's Cherokee continues to live up to its legendary status as a solid, comfortable, safe SUV. It remains a popular choice for adventuring families who enjoy heading out of the towns and cities into the countryside, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride over rough or slippery terrain. The Cherokee makes a good option for drivers who regularly tow boats or trailers.

Cranking up the power for 2009, this model remains the only SUV available today with a choice of five engines, giving potential buyers plenty of possibilities. The Cherokee provides a smooth, comfortable ride and agile handling, both on-road and off, with little harshness felt from the bumps and rough spots of roads. Overall, the Cherokee feels tight and solid.

Owners, particularly those with young families, will find the 2009 model comfortable, capable, and fun to drive. It has proven to be particularly popular with those households who require space and comfort for family trips, or adventuring drivers who need a solid off-roading vehicle. The Cherokee's interior comfort, efficiency and car-like handling all contribute towards the Jeep's popularity with the buying public, with its rugged exterior styling, reliability and value also being points of praise. It is fun to drive, and has a diesel engine that s quiet, powerful and extremely economical. The Jeep Cherokee provides ample room for a family of four without being too cumbersome. It's comfortable and stylish without being obnoxiously overloaded, and it has a reassuring steadiness under the toughest road conditions.

The Cherokee has a relatively compact body (at least compared to others in this segment), but maintains a family friendly sense and style. Compared with other four-wheel-drive SUVs, the 2009 Cherokee has a sufficient variety of accoutrements that are both practical and useful, presented in a tasteful manner, without appearing flashy or vulgar. The interior is both comfortable and stylish, and has plenty of cargo space. In nappies, in school, or in their teenage years - there is plenty of room in the back seat for kids of all sizes.

The Cherokee provides a sturdy, stable ride, even when traversing difficult terrain with safety being the primary concern.

The Jeep Cherokee proves to be a winning formula.

The Brand New 2009 VW Polo Model

When I'm shopping for a car there are a number of things I take into consideration. A car should somehow combine style - a sense of design - with practicality - a sense of safety. I want a car that will hold all my food shopping on a Saturday morning, all my clothes shopping on a Saturday afternoon and not slow me down when I'm trying to nip into that last parking space in the multistorey. I need a nippy little engine - a pouncing tiger hidden in a purring pussy cat's outer shell. And the car that successfully combines all of these for me is the VW Polo.

The Polo has undergone several transformations over the years. The current incarnation was launched in 2002, but underwent an important facelift in 2005 when it evolved into the sleeker, sexier design we know and love. The new 2009 models have taken on elements of their cousin, the VW Golf, in particular the front end.

The slinky look, however, does not detract from the solid stability of the Polo, which retains a reassuringly chunky edge. It is in this edge that the reliability lies - that feeling that there's something solid beneath your feet (or pedals, in this case!) that won't give out and leave you stranded roadside in the dark. The Polo is in fact one of the more reliable cars out there, painless to run and, when they are necessary, boasting low-cost repairs. Which means more money for me and my shoe closet!

Speaking of which, the boot may not be the biggest in the business, but it's plenty big enough, even for my shopping habits! It also has a removable false bottom, beneath which is a tardis-like expanse of space for storing sensible walking shoes and wellies - just in case you do get caught out in snow, or suddenly and unexpectedly have to chase a man up a mountain...

And the glove box is sizeable enough for gloves hats and scarves, all my paperwork, my emergency make-up bag, the usual endless (I'm convinced they're breeding!) packs of travel tissues and my mobile phone charger. In fact, it's thanks to the glove box that I'm able to keep the rest of the car so spotless - which is a relief, as I wouldn't want my clutter to detract from the lovely blue-lit dashboard with it's neat instrumentation.

As for the Pouncing Tiger Purring Pussy Cat, this car really is great for zipping around town in. The turbo-charged engine makes pulling out into moving traffic as easy as stepping out of your front door, and the excellent all-round visibility makes parking an absolute doddle. Yup, the VW Polo truly is a shopaholic's best friend!

The Used Land Rover

Seeing a Land Rover on Britain's roads is almost as guaranteed as seeing birds in the sky. Stylish, practical and arguably quintessentially 'British', the Land Rover has become somewhat of an icon. Have you ever promised yourself one? Maybe? Well, you're not alone. But in times like these where cash is tight and finance is tricky, buying yourself a brand new Land Rover might just be a tad too far out of reach, despite the current incentives available.

However, hard-headed motorists have once again turned to the beauty of the used car market, and doing so yourself might just do the trick for you too. Buying yourself a Used Land Rover could get you the Land Rover you want, at a price you can afford. There are thousands of models available all over the country, all ready to drive away at prices much lower than those of the showroom. Many dealers also offer similar facilities to those of new cars such as warranties, road tax and insurance - every little helps right?

A three year old, base model Range Rover can be snapped up for as little as £30,000. The Range Rover's sheer size and luxury arguably go unmatched in its class, at this price. Furthermore, many of them spend large amounts of time cruising up the motorway or pottering around town - hardly strenuous motoring to wear down condition of Land Rover's flagship model.

On the other end of the scale, however, is the Land Rover Defender. A timeless industry standard, seen crossing both the desert and the Yorkshire Moors. There's thousands of Defenders put up for sale every day across the UK, but be certain you know what you are buying before you commit to it. Many examples may have been heavily modified or abused in the past, which could lead to expensive maintenance bills year on year. Having said that, find yourself a model in good condition and you might just bag yourself a bargain.

Bang in the middle of the scale, however, are the Land Rover Freelander and Discovery models. Loved by farmers and families alike, these two models have shown their true diversity of the years of their production. Recent models share the same space - age styling, and the wide variety of engines used offer both good economy and adequate performance, whatever your needs may be. Spacious interiors are perfect for kids and carrying loads, whilst the bulky chassis is more than capable of towing heavy loads. Again, certain examples may be more 'used' than others, so do your homework before signing the dotted line. Wear and tear is bound to be commonplace, so bear this in mind when searching around. Otherwise, with three year old, base models fetching anywhere between £9,000 and £13,000, you might just find yourself the ideal family car at an ideal price.

The Revolutionary Hybrid Car

You may have heard of the new Hybrid cars being mentioned in the news, magazines and car programmes. The Hybrid car is a revolutionary concept that has been created to help protect our environment.

The difference between a standard car and the Hybrid car is that the engines run off rechargeable batteries and gasoline opposed to just gasoline or diesel. Hybrid cars can reduce smog up to 90% and can offer much higher fuel economy against a normal car engine. Eventually the idea is that everyone will drive a Hybrid car providing fuel efficient transportation which will effectively reduce pollution from car fumes alongside decreasing the worry for rising gas prices.

Hybrid car engines run an electric motor when accelerating during this time the gasoline side of the engine is shut down. When the batteries need to be charged again the gasoline engine wills start again. When the hybrid car brakes it usually will return to the electric motor side because of the lower amount of power needed when braking for an extended amount of time.

Hybrid cars are a wonderful concept for our environment; they can effectively get 55-60 miles per gallon over inner city driving. This is actually more than three times better then many of today's economical SUV's! Another impressive factor is against the new electric cars in that the Hybrid car does not require limited use and there is no need to recharge their engines. Electric cars require recharging anywhere from 50-100 miles. The hybrid engine has the ability to recharge itself with the gas side of it. This means that long distance travel is never a worry for the fuel efficient auto enthusiasts with today's hybrid motors. Also a massive disadvantage the electric car has is performance. Most electric cars are only able to reach a top speed of around 60 miles per hour whereas the hybrid engine will perform just the same speeds as the standard cars.

If you are looking for more information on this cutting edge car visit your local dealer or you can research a large amount of information by searching online.

The History of the Iconic Chevrolet Camaro

There have been plenty of American-made muscle cars over the years, and one of the perpetual favorites in that elite group is the Chevrolet Camaro. Although its original production run ended official in 2002, popular demand revived the model and the 5th generation Camaro began production in 2009. Here's a thumbnail sketch of the history of this American classic.

When the Ford Mustang took America by storm in the early 1960's, Chevrolet saw a need to reply in kind. The result was the introduction of its Camaro in 1967. The name for the model has no real literal meaning, but its name begins with a "C" like all Chevy models of at that time and the name's root suggests friendship (as in Cam-araderie). It was technically classified as a "compact car" though the Camaro and its contemporaries began being known as pony cars, muscle cars, etc.

The Camaro captured the American imagination but it was the 2nd generation design introduced in 1970 (and continuing production for another 11 years!) that became an iconic part of the United States motoring scene. Souped-up models became popular for street and closed-circuit racing: a tradition that continues today.

When production ceased in 2002, the stage was already set for the revival of the Camaro. Racing enthusiasts today still favor this model for drag racing, and it never lost its iconic status, appearing in movies such as The Transformers. Thanks to its reintroduction, 2010 Camaro performance cars are set to hit the tracks again in the GT class of the Grand Am Road Racing Championship.

The Camaro is an American classic whose lasting popularity refuses to wane.

For those people who want more than just another cookie-cutter car off the assembly line such as 2010 Camaro performance, Fastlane Inc is the answer. Find out more details at http://www.fastlaneturbo.com/. Ryan Coisson is a freelance writer.

The BMW Mini Coopers

Evolution

British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successor produced the MINI from 1959 until 2000. Then a new generation evolved that added state-of-the-art technology, quality, reliability and modern levels of safety to traditional MINI values. The significant feature that influenced the next generation car-makers was its space-saving front-wheel-drive layout. MINI has its distinctive position on the small-car market. It offers world class technology compared to other small cars as well as high levels of agility and style.

The numerous "special editions" of the MINI shifted the car from a mass-market item into a style icon. It was this image that possibly helped the MINI become such an asset for BMW. MINI Coopers come in three types; Hatchback, Convertible and Clubman.

Eco-friendly MINI

Thankfully MINI realized much earlier how important it was to work in harmony with nature. The reduction of CO2 emissions and fuel consumption is a top-priority issue at MINI. The MINI One D and the green version - The MINI Cooper D are among the most ecological members of their segment with fuel consumption of just 3.9 l/100 and CO2 emissions of 104 g/km. Also, most of the parts used to build a MINI can be dismantled quickly and recycled economically.

Advantage MINI

Killer Looks

The interior just says: "Get in and drive me!" The tough aircraft-style switches look awesome while the ambient lighting, the colors of which you can change to suit your mode, are surprisingly unbelievable.

Easy Riding and Handling

It's not just the good looks which brings a smile on your face, the handling is superb especially with the MINI's wide stance gripping the road resolutely.

Economic Running Costs

MINI brings along with itself good economy. It returns a very respectable average of 48.7 mpg. When you buy this you get a Roadside Assistance Package for three years with unlimited mileage warranty for the same duration. With its desirability and waiting lists, you can fetch a good amount too when you sell it.

Extra Safety

You feel safe and stable at legal and legal plus highway speeds. It has a range of modern day safety features that include curtain-type airbags, which protect the head and shoulder in a side-impact crash. The braking system is also excellent. Along with a full skid control system, BMW has provided a "cornering brake control" that varies brake pressure among the wheels to help prevent spinouts when braking heavily in a turn.

Add on

All MINIs have electric mirrors and windows, alloy wheels, a CD player and six airbags. If you buy the MINI Cooper S you get additional sports features, including sports suspension and design features. You would also benefit from the satellite navigation system and ambient light pack.

X-Factor

Your MINI can fit into any parking space and get through any tight gap. It may look like a grocery getter but it drives like a sports car and has been one of the top runners in 70s sports car racing.

Awards

The MINI Cooper D was nominated for WhatGreenCar.com Car of the Year Awards, in 2008.

The North American Car of the Year award for 2003 was won by BMW MINI Cooper/Cooper S.

The 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid

Article at http://www.sexystreetcars.com/2008-honda-civic-hybrid-t8.html

Integrated Motor Assist combines a 1.3-litre i-VTEC petrol engine with a lightweight, high-output electric motor that assists the engine during acceleration and at higher speeds. Then, when you're braking, decelerating or going downhill, it recharges its own batteries.

When you bring the Civic Hybrid to a complete stop, its ingenious AUTO STOP feature automatically turns off the petrol engine to minimise fuel consumption and emissions. The car sits silently as you wait in traffic or at stop lights. Then, as soon as you release the brake, the engine restarts quietly, quickly and automatically.

* Under certain conditions the engine will remain operational when the car is stationary.

A rear spoiler improves aerodynamics and helps fine tune performance, while adding to the Civic Hybrid's stand-out design.

Body-side moulding features a stylish chrome strip. Not only does it accentuate the Civic Hybrid's clean lines, it protects the doors from minor nicks and scrapes.

The Civic Hybrid features manual tilt and telescope steering wheel adjustment and also has audio controls on the left side of the steering wheel for volume and channel selection. Cruise control buttons are located on the right side of the steering wheel.

The New Era of Hybrid Cars

The first self-powered vehicle had its inception by Brezine in the year 1769. Since then there are a lot of modifications in the mechanism of cars. The modern automobiles are in possession of sophisticated technology, thereby meeting the present demands of the global economy.

The first priority of every human being is to strive for meeting the basic demands. Once he is satisfied and all his demands get fulfilled his demand, his priorities shifts from basic to luxury.

Hybrid cars come under the luxurious vehicle category. It is not new to the world. The invention of hybrid vehicles took place in 19th and 20th century. 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour First Drive

Styling is subjective, but we think the tall, wide-hipped Crosstour is reasonably attractive - save for its large, somewhat clunky horizontal-bar grille, which gives it a face unlike any other Honda's. Inside, the look and feel are roomy, plush and user-friendly, with such touches as plush carpeting, rear-ventilation outlets in the console and double stitching on the available leather trim.

Honda's new-for-2010 Accord-based crossover, unabashedly named Accord Crosstour. It is essentially an Accord wagon, except its rear roofline is aerodynamically sloped instead of squared off, which sacrifices some cargo room but preserves respectable backseat headroom even for six-footers. But please don't call it that.

Is such a half-breed a car, or is it a truck? While some crossovers, especially the larger ones with three rows of seats, are more SUV-like, this one appears closer to a car. As far as government classification goes, the signals are mixed: for emissions and fuel economy testing, the EPA sees it as a passenger car. For safety certification, NHTSA calls it a truck.

Honda calls it a "five-door, five-passenger premium CUV" and offers it in two models: a well-equipped EX (just over $30,000, including destination) and an upscale EX-L (about $33K). "Real-time" four-wheel drive adds $1,450 and voice-activated navigation with a rear-view camera, another $2,200, but both are offered on the EX-L only.

Standard on the EX are dual-zone automatic air conditioning; 360-watt, 7-speaker audio with a 6-disc CD player; easy fold-down 60/40 split rear seats; 225/65 R17 all-season tires on alloy wheels; a power moonroof; steering-wheel audio controls; auto-off projector beam headlights; fog lights; rear privacy glass; and a hidden removable utility box.

The EX-L adds leather-trimmed seats (heated in front), steering wheel and shift knob; memory mirrors and driver-side seat; 225/60 R18 all-season tires; auto-on/off headlights; a cargo privacy cover; a HomeLink transmitter; premium speakers and a USB audio interface.

How much of this Crosstour is Accord under its skin? Honda says roughly 60 percent of its parts are shared with the sedan, including the chassis and powertrain, the instrument panel and most of the interior. That chassis incorporates fully independent double-wishbone front and rear-multilink rear suspensions, both slightly upgraded for the taller, heavier Crosstour. Notable among those upgrades are rebound springs inside the front shocks to improve handling and reduce body roll, two-piston front brake calipers and bigger rear rotors.

The only available powertrain is the Accord's 271-hp 3.5-liter i-VTEC SOHC V-6 coupled to a five-speed automatic transmission. This award-winning engine uses Honda's exclusive Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) cylinder deactivation system to enhance fuel economy by shutting down two, or at times even three, cylinders when it's lightly loaded. The electronically controlled 5-speed automatic is smooth but slightly less fuel-efficient than the latest 6-speeds offered by GM, Ford and others. The 2WD Crosstour is EPA-rated at a respectable 18 city/27 highway mpg and the 4WD EX-L at 17/25.

The two interior color choices are charcoal black with a black instrument panel or ivory with a two-tone (black upper, tan lower) instrument panel, both with tasteful faux wood accents. To quiet the cabin, a new Active Sound Control (ASC) technology uses the audio system to acoustically minimize engine noise. There is 25.7 cu. ft. of cargo room behind the 60/40 rear seats; and, folding them down increases the area to 54 cu. ft. Access to it is easy thanks to a large tailgate opening and a low lift-over height. Three other handy features are twin levers that quickly fold those seats flat into the floor, carpeted lids that flip over to create easy-to-clean plastic surfaces and a hidden 1.9-liter storage box with handles for easy removal.

If you've driven an Accord sedan, you'll feel comfortable in a Crosstour. Honda engineers have compensated well via specific spring rates, shocks and stabilizer bars; for its modestly increased size and the potential of added cargo weight. Unladen, it rides and handles about as well as the fairly agile yet compliant sedan. Its brakes are suitably strong and fade-free, but its constant-ratio steering is somewhat slower at low speeds compared to the sedan's variable-ratio system.

With six inches of ground clearance, this is no off-road crawler, but the available fully automatic Real Time 4WD system improves its bad-weather and off-pavement capabilities by sending power to the rear wheels when the fronts begin to slip. The 5-speed automatic can be manually shifted, and its new downshift rev-match feature smooths manual downshifts.

Standard safety features include Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution and brake assist. The comprehensive restraint system includes dual-stage, multiple threshold front airbags; driver's and front passenger's side airbags with a passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS); side curtain airbags with a rollover sensor; and active front seat head restraints.

This new 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour slides neatly between Honda's Civic-based CR-V compact crossover and its larger, more truck-like (Accord-based) Pilot CUV and competes directly with Toyota's similar Camry based Venza and Nissan's Altima-based Murano. The Mercedes-Benz Star 2009

The company has shown itself to be one of the world's top manufacturer's quality and high-end cars. Many companies have attempted, but only Mercedes-Benz has been able to touch all the bases and exceed expectations in luxury cars, buses, vans, trucks, and SUV's, along with the major involvement with motor car racing.

In the 1880's Mercedes-Benz was originated by two men: Karl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler. The internal combustion engine powered vehicle was their greatest invention. One of the most ironic things about Mercedes-Benz is that the two originators never even knew each other, but their work was directly related. They both lived in Southwest Germany. One of Daimler friends: Wilhelm Maybach took a major role in the invention of the four-stroke engine in Cannstatt, which is an area in Stuttgart. They would never know in the near future, they would both make a luxury car. Karl Benz on the other hand worked at a place by Heidelberg, known as Mannheim. Believe it or not, the two men never met in history.

A decade later, Daimler was building his cars in Unterturkheim. They were built to last and to go fast, which resulted in many successful races under his company's name. The sucsess was at such a great feat that an Austrian dealer by the name of Emil Jellinek entered the cars in the races and expected to win without a doubt in mind. He decided to name the cars after his daughter whose name was Mercedes. He was very impressed with the work of Daimler and Maybach that he decided to make a large manufacturing demand from the two. The only stipulations were that he would decide on some design modifications that needed to be done, and that the cars were to be named after his daughter Mercedes. He also demanded that he would get the full resell rights to the countries: Austria, Hungary, France, Belgium and the United States. He His belief and faith was so strong in the car and the makers that his major assets were in this company.

A symbol was chosen for the combined products of DMG and Benz. The new insignia was a three-pointed star wreathed with laurel. The word "Mercedes" was at the top and the word "Benz" was at the bottom. Then merger did the new company well. Production of Mercedes-Benz rose to 7,918 Mercedes-Benz automobiles in 1927. The Mercedes-Benz diesel truck was put into production in 1927, also.

The 770 Grosser was powered by an 8 cylinder, 7.6 liter engine. Mercedes-Benz's biggest and most prestigious car to date was launched in 1930. A car for the truly wealthy of the world, it was quite an automobile for showing off in a world economy still reeling from the Wall Street Crash of 1929.The cars of the 1930s produced great racing success for Mercedes-Benz. The silver metal bodywork gave rise to the name Silver Arrows when the W25 racer (of Rudolph Caracciola fame) had the white paint removed to lower its weight. Mercedez-Benz is the cream of the crop in luxury automobile manufacturing.

Why People Love Hybrid SUVs?

Hybrid SUVs are becoming very fast one of the most popular vehicles on the road today. In fact, online searches for a SUV hybrid in 2008 and 2009 are among the highest for all hybrid cars. Hybrid SUVs are in high demand as consumers seek new fuel-efficiency options. The 2010 Hybrid SUVs are getting more powerful and better mileage than their conventional counterparts.

There are over 15 models available now and several new ones scheduled to reach auto dealers at the end of this year and in early 2010.

Hybrid Vehicle Gas Mileage Estimates (city/hwy)
(2008 & 2009 Hybrid SUV models)

34/30 mpg: 2008 Mazda Tribute (AWD)
34/30 mpg: 2009 Ford Escape (AWD)
34/30 mpg: 2009 Mercury Mariner (4WD)
27/32 mpg: 2008 Saturn Vue Green Line (2WD)
27/25 mpg: 2008 Toyota Highlander (AWD)
26/24 mpg: 2008 Lexus 400h (AWD)
21/22 mpg: 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe (2WD)
20/20 mpg: 2009 GMC Yukon (4WD)
20/21 mpg: 2009 Cadillac Escalade

Hybrid SUVs combine the interior space and ride quality of an SUV with fuel-saving capabilities of hybrid cars. Some environmentalists have criticized the hybrid SUV as a misapplication of gas-electric technology. It's true that hybrid SUVs do not reach the level of fuel efficiency of smaller hybrids in terms of miles-per-gallon. Yet, miles-per-gallon is a non-linear and counter-intuitive form of measurement. An apparently small jump in fuel efficiency-for example, from 14 to 16 mpg-saves as much oil as increasing fuel economy from 35 to 50 mpg, according to the Union of Concerned Scientists.

At the end, don't miss this opportunity! Complete this short questionnaire (3 - 5 minutes) for your chance to win Hybrid SUV car of your choice! About the Author

The Ford Mondeo

Deciding to buy a Ford Mondeo is the easy part. Choosing which model, style and optional extras to go for is where things start to get tricky. The problem is that there's just so much choice. For a start, there are seven models, most of which are available in four-door, five-door or estate variations. Then there are the engines, which range from 1.6 - 2.5 Duratec petrol engines, to 1.8 - 2.2 Duratorq diesel engines.

The Ford Mondeo range starts with the Edge. It comes with 16" Y-spoke wheel covers, air-conditioning, CD and radio, central locking a heated front windscreen, voice controlled Bluetooth, clever Electronic Stability Programme, capless refuelling, Curtsey Delay headlights, seven airbags, a leather steering wheel and more.

The Zetec features some great additions to the Edge, such as 16" Y-spoke alloy wheels, front fog lights, body coloured door handles, brushed-finish front-door-opening scuff plates, a chrome lower grille surround, a duel-zone automatic temperature control, a leather gearshift knob and illuminated sun visor mirrors.

The ECOnetic is the car for those who are environmentally conscious. Its 1.8 or 2.0 Duratorq diesel engines give a lot of power, but doesn't compromise its environmental mission. It also has low rolling resistance tyres and front grille air deflectors, which, when coupled with the rear spoiler, makes the car ultra dynamic. There's also an up shift gear change indicator, helping you drive economically, and lowered sports suspension.

The Ghia is another great Mondeo model, which looks stylish with 17" 7X3 spoke alloy wheels, and has sensitive automatic headlights, a chrome upper grille, chrome finished upper door line, and a coloured lower grille. It also features a Sony 6CD and DAB radio system, power heated and folding door mirrors, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, map reading lights and a front interior ambient light. The handbrake is wrapped in leather, and stylish wood-effect interior trim.

There are also the three Titanium models; the Titanium, Titanium X and Titanium X Sport. The Titanium's additions to the Zetec include 17" Y-spoke alloy wheels, silver painted upper and lower grilles, blue glass, brushed-chrome interior trim, cllever Ford Convers+ instrument cluster, and sports style front seats.

The Titanium X also includes the addition of 18" Y-spoke alloy wheels and Halogen Adaptive front lights with static cornering lights. There are front and rear parking sensors and heated seats. For gadget lovers, there's a FordPower start button and variable heated front seats. And for rear seat passengers, there's a central armrest with cup holders.

The last model in the Ford Mondeo range is the Titanium X Sport. It had a sports exterior design and a rear spoiler for added aerodynamics, as well as sports suspension. Its leather seats, steering wheel, door panel inserts, and gearshift are trimmed with red stitching, making even the inside look ultra luxurious. Whatever your life style and budget, the Ford Mondeo comes in a model to suit you.

Cheapest New Cars in the US

If you're like most of us, you can't really afford to spend a ton on a car with the current economic climate. At the same time, you don't want to throw down money on a cheap used car that isn't going to last through the winter. Used cars can be a huge hassle because they often require many more repairs than a new car would. Well lucky for you, there are plenty of brand spanking new cars at relatively cheap prices. However, they might not even be worth the low price they're sporting. You'll just have to check it out for yourself. Here is a list of the most inexpensive cars of 2009.

1. Hyundai Accent GS Base Hatchback. At $10,665, this car is the cheapest new car you can buy in the United States. Yes it's very likable, but don't expect anything amazing from it. It comes at a great low price; however you aren't exactly getting the best deal. For its low starting price, you will be getting only the bare bones of what you usually get from a new car. If you want say an automatic transmission, an AC or a stereo, expect to pay at least $1000 more for it. This car gets around 27 MPG in the city and 33 MPG on the highway.

2. Nissan Versa 1.6 Sedan. This car starts at $10,685. It's a little roomier than the Hyundai Accent, but it doesn't really offer many options either. Color choices are very limited. Again, if you want extras like a stereo or an automatic transmission, you'll have to throw down some extra cash. As far as fuel economy goes, it gets between 24-27 MPG in the city and 31-34 MPG on the highway.

3. Kia Rio Base Sedan. For $12,145 you'll get the basics plus four airbags and a CD player, however if you're looking for color options or power windows, you'll again have to pay a little extra. Although this car offers a few more perks, it may not be worth the price as it sports lower crash test scores and resale value than the Nissan Versa.

4. Chevrolet Aveo. At $12,625, this car is again a much stripped down version of what you would typically expect from a new car. However, it does come with an AM/FM radio and an input jack for your MP3 player, as well as AC. Small perks aside, this car doesn't drive too well and it's lacking in many safety features. As far as fuel economy, this car gets 25-27 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway.

If you do decide that you want one of these new cars, you might want to spruce it up a bit with some aftermarket car parts and accessories.

The BMW Hydrogen Hybrid Cars

With BMW's announcement that they're developing several models of hybrid vehicle to be introduced over the next few years a new market segment is starting to emerge - the luxury hybrid. Well known for innovation, quality, and style in the standard car market, BMW's entry into the hybrid market is sure to have a positive effect on the future of non-fossil fuel powered vehicles.

BMW 7 Series Hybrid
The first BMW hybrid model to be available will be in the popular 7 Series. Already in testing, this car will run on both Hydrogen and gasoline. The primary challenge of developing this kind of hybrid in comparison to the fuel cell technology that other manufacturers are using is in keeping the Hydrogen in liquid form so it's usable by the engine.

Because Hydrogen is only liquid at very low temperatures and the natural state of the engine compartment is very hot, keeping the hydrogen from getting too hot and evaporating is a significant challenge. Issues with transporting and storing Hydrogen at fuel stations is also an issue as is making the fuel available in enough locations to give motorists enough places to refuel to make owning the car practical.

Hydrogen Power
In contrast to other car manufacturers who are concentrating on gas/electric hybrids with the eventual goal of producing all-electric vehicles, BMW's plan has nothing to do with electricity or the heavy and expensive batteries that storing and delivering electricity to a vehicle requires.

BMW already boasts a car that runs completely on water and, with their proven technology that produces Hydrogen from sunlight, they believe an entirely self-sustainable fuel system using solar cells to product Hydrogen that will then power the vehicle is viable within the next decade.

Into the Future
The driving force behind BMW's push for Hydrogen fueled vehicles are the benefits they believe Hydrogen has over alternate fuels like gasoline, electricity, or other solid fuels. Not does Hydrogen pose no environmental threat and produce no emissions it's also a completely renewable form of energy that uses no natural resources that aren't easily replenished.

BMW's plan to eventually produce a car that runs entirely on Hydrogen produced by boiling water with energy from the sun (through solar cells) is certainly an exciting notion. Only time will tell if they can pull it off but the incredible promise of what they're trying to do makes this writer hope that they do.

The Innovative Car Technologies

Over the years there have been some strange features/contraptions to have been installed on cars across the world.

Some people would call them innovative, others may call them bizarre - the latest car feature that has caught my eye is Ford's inflatable seatbelt. It's currently only available on models in the US - but surely it won't take off worldwide?

Don't worry though - the seatbelt isn't inflated for the duration of your journey, in the event of an accident it uses 'airbag technology' to inflate and expand around a traditional seatbelt.

The purpose of this new seatbelt is to help reduce head, neck and chest injuries among the more vulnerable passengers.

Other innovative technology that has recently been introduced in the 'Eco Pedal' from Nissan. The Eco Pedal is a simple feature that has been produced with the aim of cutting emissions. According to figures the Eco Pedal can reduce emissions by 10-15%, depending on the way you drive.

There is a light on the dashboard which indicates when you are driving within the 'optimum acceleration range for fuel economy'. The pedal slightly adjusts to ensure that you keep driving at this level - it may sound strange but you can't actually feel the pedal pushing back.

This pedal was introduced on selected models earlier this year.

Stop/Start technology has become quite popular throughout 2009 and is another feature that has been designed to preserve fuel and cut emissions. Stop/ Start technology automatically switches off your cars engine when you are stationary - at traffic lights for example. As soon as you press the clutch again the engine turns itself back on. This enables you to preserve your fuel, which means that you'll save money when you get to the pumps.

According to some recent research 15% of all cars will have this technology by 2015.

The new Lexus LS600 features some innovative and highly intelligent lights. By making use of a camera sensor in the rear view mirror, the Lexus is able to detect street lamps, oncoming traffic and vehicles travelling ahead - very clever!

The final feature I want to mention in this article is the safety-inspired 'lane sensors' which detect whether or not your vehicle begins to creep into the next lane. If this happens the device will set off a small beep to alert you...and save you from crashing into the vehicle driving alongside you!

This feature would be especially useful if it was installed in lorries as I always find them starting to creep into my lane on the motorways!

So, when it comes to new car features anything is possible...what's next?

The 541S Jensen British Classic Car

Not much is known or has been written about the 541S Jensen British classic car. The classic car that was made in Britain in the sixties is often ignored by the enthusiasts of the classic cars perhaps because not so many of them were made and also because their automatic version earned a very poor reputation as it never performed as it was expected to. The 541S Jensen British classic cars were designed by a Briton, Eric Neale of a company that was at that time owned by Alan Jensen. The first of their models were; Jensen CV8, that was created prior to the Interceptor and with a six-liter V8 engine, as well as 541S. The cars were hand built and had minimal maintenance requirements and in addition, their bodies were rust free. In 1965, CV8 was rated as the speediest four-sitter car. Before the production of the CV8, the other favorite model was the 541 (chiefly the Jensen 541S) that had a four liter straight 6 Austin Princes engine.

It is so surprising that despite the fact that 541S Jensen British classic car received more awards than any other classic cars of the time; it has not been comparatively expensive. The CV8 that was designed by Dave Horton and Jensen Owners club are credited for having won awards such as "Car of the show," "Best club stand, "and "Best of the master class" among other awards. The awards were deserved because the West Bromwich-based Jensen brothers designed and made cars that were extremely good. They are also credited for having being the pioneers of the disk brakes for a four-wheel drive that was the first to utilize the wind tunnel on the car's body design. The brothers are also praised for stressing on the importance of car safety. The fist car to be designed with standard safety belts was the 541S and was also padded with soft material below and above the dashboard. In addition, the window winders and the door handles were made to fit the recessed panels so as to minimize any possible harm.

Jensen brothers also won the "Silver medal for coach work" for producing a four sitter car that was also the fastest then. For a long time afterwards, the Jensen brothers' work on polyester resin coach and glass fiber has continued to stand the challenges of time. The car has a straight six-liter engine that has been designed with three SU huge carburetors and that is also connected to Jaguar Moss synchromesh gearbox which has an override. More over, the car servo works well with Dunlop disk brakes, a combination that places the car in the class of its own. The CV8's power is peculiar as very few cars which were produced in the early 1960's can be utilized as daily cars many years later.

Out of the one hundred and twenty seven 541S cars that were made from 1960 to 1962, only twenty two were of manual drive version. Though the car is little known today, it was at that time regarded as the most luxurious model of 541S.

The Right Car Stereo And Adapter

Have you just bought yourself a new car? Are you thinking of great accessories to make your car much more fun to drive? If so, then you should think about getting yourself a new car stereo system and car stereo adapter. You spend several hours of your day driving your car. And most of this time will probably be spent listening to the radio.

Most of the stereos that are provided with any car are decent. But they can be so much better. There are stereo systems that allow you to insert multiple discs, so you don't have to keep switching them while you are driving. If you have an i-Pod, modern stereos have an auxiliary port which you can plug your i-Pod into using a stereo adapter, so you can listen to your music while driving.

There are dozens of car stereo brands which you can choose from. And all of them have their own pros and cons. A person who loves listening to heavy metal music with lots of bass will need to buy a different stereo from one who prefers listening to classical music. Plus, most stereos come with their own set of speakers as well.

This is why it is very important for you to test the stereos and the speakers before buying them and having them installed in your car. It would be better if you could bring a few sample CDs or your i-Pod with you to the store, so you can hear how it sounds. If you are buying a car stereo from a brand you already trust, then you it may be more convenient for you to buy it online.

If the shipping cost is waived then stereos bought online will be significantly cheaper than those bought from retail outlets in malls and such. But, in the end the choice is up to you. What matters most is that you get a stereo that can play the music you love in a way that it sounds best. So what are you waiting for? Get yourself the perfect car stereo and car stereo adapter now!
