The all new 2010 Mercury Mariner Hybrid standard model is equipped with a 2.5 liter Inline-4 Atkinson cycle engine and Permanent magnet electric motor. The combination of the electric motor and gas engine produces 177 net horsepower. This also makes the 2010 Mercury Mariner Hybrid the most fuel efficient SUV in the world.

Mercury engineered the Mariner Hybrid combination 2.5 liter engine and electric motor to operate in a fuel efficient manner that would be second to none. A prime example of this system at work is that while you are driving, the gas engine is working.
